GAELIC SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Gaelic Society was held in the Orchestral Hall, Rattrav street, on the 7th. The/chief (Mr D. M'Pherson) occupied the chair, and called upon Piper Angus M'Millan to play a lament in memory of Miss Nance Duncan, Allan M'Kenzie, and Dan Livingstone. Mr M'Pherson read a letter from Sir Thomas Mackenzie conveying good wishes and prosperity to the society for the new year. The programme was of the usual Highland character, the following contributing.—Mr M'Boath, a Gaelic song, "Hi ho ro_ m' nighniag"; Mr? Lister, " Bonnie Prince Charlie" and "Mary of Argvle"; Mrs Campbell, Gaelic songs. "Loch Sloy," "M' ribhinn donn "; Mr ,T. D. Cameron, "Jean," "Mary"; Miss Riddel! danced a sheanntrubhais; Mr Murdon Nicolson. Gaelic song, "A mhairi bheanog"; Miss Kennedy, a Gaelic song; Mr K. Cameron, Gaelic song. "Au fal-al-al o." Piper Angus M'Mullan played the national music, and Miss Beeve tha accompaniments. Mr Colin M'Kenzie took charge of the dance which followed.
