SENIOR CADETS.
WELLINGTON, January 7, A new syllabuß of training for Senior "Cadets »will bo issued shortly, containing 1 important alterations. The largo number of rejections from tho Expeditionary Force on acccvnt of physical unfitness has directed the attention of those concerned to the importance of an efficient physical training for tho youth of tho dominion. As a * consequence the new syllabus will aim at producing, in the first two years of cadet service, physically fit youths—in other words, the purely military side of tho training will be subordinated to the other. In addition, grec.ter attention is to be paid in educating youths as to their duties of citizenship and as future possible defenders of Now Zealand.
In order to ensure that the syllabus will bo carried out in an efficient manner, & special class for-physical instruction will be inaugurated at Trentham to-morrow, being attended by secondary schoolmasters, Cadet and Territorial officers, and staff sergeanticsujors. Tho course, which will extend over three weeks, will be conducted under the supervision of Captain Brocks, M.C., Armjy Gymnastic Staff, who was chief Instruotor (n physical training and bayonet fighting in the reinforcement camps.
