WOMEN PATROLS.

AUCKLAND, June 7. The Civic League asked the Hon. G. W. Russell to appoint women patrols in the principal cities of the dominion. The- deputation made special reference to the recent police raid in Wellington. The Minister replied that the necessary regulations had been approved. When these became operative he would have publio meetings called and have appointed boards of social hygiene, -which -would work in conjunction -with the local health offioere.
