A soldier named Louis Lucas died at the ■Wellington Hospital on Thursday night. He was knocked down by a tramcar in Lambton auay a short time ago, sustaining Injuries which necessitated the amputation of a leg. He never rcoovered from the ihock of the accident.
A 13-year-old boy named Alfred Fairhurst Hailwood, whose parent reside at Wadestown, died suddenly at hlg. home on Thursday, 28th ult. Hs had been playing football in the- afternoon, and returned home complaining of pain, in the head. t Ho died a few hours later (eaya the Dominion).
