ALLEGED ROBBERY.

AUCKLAND, May 5. A sensational story of an alleged robbery on Tuesday has been told by a young woman typist in a local office. She states that on Ihi evening in ques c tion sho was working overtime, and about 6 o'clock she was surprised at the entry into tho office of two young -_men. The taller of the two stepped in, picked up her cloth coat from the table, and threw it round her head, while the other clasped! her hands behind her back and ran her into the manager's office. Here tho taller man, finding a woollen scarf, tied _it outside the coat round her head, rendering her incapable of calling for assistance, and almost preventing her breathing. Ho then relieved tho younger man of his charge and order tho latter to "Get to it." The younger man evidently understood, for the young woman heard his footsteps as he proceeded to tho table, lifted the keys, and opened the door, removing all the silver while tho safe was being robbed. Then the man in charge asked anxiously of his mate: "Right, no cheques?" Tho other replied in tho negative. The man at the safe moved out of the office and when lie had evidently reached the main entrance the young woman's hands were released, and tho other man decamped along -with his mate.
