HOKITIKA, March 6. An important business deal was completed yesterday, the business of Messrs Malfroy and Co., timber merchants, being purchased by Sydney and Auckland business men. The substantial figure paid as purchase money covers the well-known Three mile Mill, with largo timber areas (freehold and Crown lands). The firm of Messrs Stuart and Chapman, eawmillers, has changed hands also, and has boon converted into a limited liability oompany. The areas affected include a mill and an area at Rimu and large timber areas south of the Mikonui River, over which tho firm, assisted by the county council, are erecting a traffic bridge.
