WAIKAIA.
March 4.—The weather has been beautifully warm, enabling the farmers to reap, stook, and some to thrash from the stook, as labourers are few. There are some first class crops of oats, and one farmer has a fine wheat field. There are good crops of wheat in Wendonside. Fire.—On Friday morning, Ist inst., the flaxmill owned by Mr Taylor, was accidentally burned down. Mr Taylor is a heavy loser. He intends to get the flaxmill rebuilt as soon as possible. Flax is at a big price and there is a good deal of it in the district. Many men are employed cutting and carting, etc., and about the flaxmill.
