Although the fields in iour events were small, the tote turnover was large. Pervoio (Advance—Ballarat), trained at •J.renthani, filled third place. The two-year-olds Wawata, Doric (DemosthenesEocene), and Blended (All Black—Lily White) were among the, runners. The Gisborne winners Sheila and Vermilion came in fou most support for the President's Handicap, but the best they could do was to get placed behind Blacit Ada (All Black —Armada). xhe Wanganui winners, Engari and All Over, were the popular picks for the 'lahaoite, Hack Welter. Engari broke a bloody vessel, and w.as pulled up, and All Oyer won easily from Probity (Bczonian—Tortulla). In, the Dannevirke Cup Multicipal and Perfidy, the two best-backed runners, finished in .that order. The light-weights, Jean Laddo and Maraetotara, made the pace for a mile. Perfidy appeared to have the race won 100 yards from home, but Multicipal finished in great style under punishment. Pervoio was saddled up again in the Rakaratai Hack Handicap, and in a weak field won rather easily from Birkenetta, who does not stay beyond five furlongs. Colorado was backed in the Jumpers' Flat Race as if it was all over. Parewanui, who was in receipt of a lot of weight from the best of his opponents, got a good break, and was never headed. Colorado beat Prince Delaware for second money. Parewanui, who has been racing a long time, was the biggest outsider with one exception. All Over and Elevator, who was unplaced in the- Cup, were brought out again in the Makirikiri Hack Handicap. Although there were only fivo runners, All Over paid really as good a price as earlier in the day. He has won three times out of four starts. He is by All Red—Mumm, and was picked up in the South Island by Mr Jas. Bull at the same time he purchased All Red. Sir Wallace, who has been off the scene some time, was reproduced in the Tamaki Welter, in which Black Ada was produced for the second time. Sweet Tipperary gave her .opponents a start, and won comfortably from Haumakaha, with Blaok Ada close up third. , T , The Trentham contingent for Nelson meeting leave on Monday. Rose Pink and Mascot are going across for the Cup, and W 7 aimatao, who ran two good races at Wanganui, will compete in the sprint race. Troutbeck's colours last season are changing hands. Silver Tongue ran in Mr T. Hall, the Wanganui owner-trainer. Form Up has been purchased, and leased by A. Hall, the Wanganui owner-trained.
