EXPORT OF PRODUCE.
SHIPPING PROSPECTS. MINISTERIAL STATEMENT. WELLINGTON, February 19. Mr Masscy made tli.e_ following statement to-day regarding the shipping supply:— "I am sorry to bay tiiat tjie outlook is not nearly so good as it was six weeks or two months ago. Fortunately, in January and up till the present in this month the supply of shipping has been good, and we haro very greatly reduced our stocks of frozen meat and our dairy produce in the different cold stores throughout the dominion. I think even how that there will be no serious difficulty so far as frozen mean and cheese are concerned. The difficulty, "1 am afraid, will bo with thf> wool. flax, tallow, and other commodities which are Very often considered to be of minor importance, but which in the aggregate are of importance to the dominion
as a whole. 1 hope th 9 trouble will not last very long, but it is as well for the publio to Know that for the next six weeks or two months the supply of shipping, especially for the articles I have mentioned, will not be so good as it has been since the commencement of the year. The Government will continue to do everything it possibly can to ease the position."
