TECHNICAL COLLEGE MANAGERS.

The regular meeting of the Technical College Managers, held on Wednesday afternoon, was attended by Messrs T. Scotti (chairman), Wilkinson, Hellyer, Duthie, Burt. Wallace, Christie, M'Kinlay, Hayward, and Brugh. The Director reported follows:—Tho Technical High School (day school) opened last week with a greatly increased enrolment, tho number of pupils now in attendance being 374, while the figures for the corresponding, week last year were 299. Miss Neale is absent on sick leave, and will be unable to resume duty for a few weeks. A relieving teacher had therefore to bo employed. The increased attendance also necessitated additional assistance, and I have been fortunate in securing tho services of Messrs J. Jeffory and D. Murray, who, when approached, readily undertook the work, I recommend that the scholarships.and bursary, available for students of the domestic course, be awarded as follow Scholarship of £5 each: Mavis E. Anderson, Mary Belcher, Hazel Hebbard, Rhena Hensley, Catherine Lang, Doris Miller, Nellie MacPherson,Mona Munro, Jean Riach, Mirella Shaw. Caledonian Society Scholarships of £10: Jessie M'Pherson and Mary Ridland. Bursary of £ls, Ella Pithie. The result of the Government shorthand-typistes' exam-, ination was made known after the December meeting. For the junior examination six pupils were presented from the day school and all passed high in the list, two being marked with credit. Another pupil who left the day school during the year also passed with credit, while two pupils who had been in the day school passed. Three pupils from tho evening classes passed the junior examination. Six candidates were presented for the senior examination and all passed, thus mantaining the record of the Technical CollegeAdopted.
