The December number of the Round Table, a quarterly review of the politics of the British Empire, contains a thoughtful review of the war in 1917, leading up incidentally to "the birth of a new world." "The Genesis of the Present Situation in India" is well worth careful studying. ■ "America's Part in the War" is outlined, and there are articles on "Freedom and Unity," and on "Turkey, Russia, and' Islam," the latter dealing with an issue which is usually lost sight of. A glance is given at " The Outlook for Reconstruction" in Great Britain, and "Developments in Ireland " are set out. _ There are also reviews of the political situations in Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.^ Stead's Review for February?) is to hand. It contains summarised reviews of the events of the month, including notes on the war news. The German reply to President Wilson's speech on the war aims" of the United States is given in parallel columns. The Triad for February is to hand. It gives the words and music of a song, " How Many Hours I've Wasted," and several 'reproductions from the etchings of John Shirlow.
