The dominion schools' swimming championships were concluded this evening in the presence of a large attendance of spectators. Results: — Boys' 100 Yards Championship —"Von Stunner (Auckland) 1, Batchelor (Christchurch) 2, Johnston (Wanganui) 3. Also competed: Boogan (Wellington), Perry (Otago), Claridge (Wellington), Quirk (Wanganui). Won by five yards. Time, 70 l-ssec. Girls' Intermediate Championship, 75 .Yards. —Miss Edenborpugh (Atickland) 1, Miss Buckmaster (Wellington) 2, Miss Batchelor (Christchurch) 3. Won by a narrow margin after a splendid race. The match Carisbrook v. St. Kilda, played at Carisbrook on Saturday afternoon, xmder perfect weather conditions and on a gocd wicket, ■ resulted in a substantial win for the Carisbraok team, who scored 198 to St. Kilda's 64. " Mornington defeated High School on the school ground by 115 to 87. The match Grange v. .Albion was played on the Caledonian Ground, and resulted in a win for Grange by three wickets. Low scoring was the order of the day, the extras alone against Albjpn totalling 20. ' '- . SECOND GRADE, Albion defeated Grange by 40 runs. Scores: Albion, 124 (King 50 not out, Clarke 33, W. Riach 10, Graliam 10);' Grange, 84 (Bell 43) The Albion bowlers were King (7 for 42) and Clarke (8 for 37); while Wright (6 wickets) and Munro (4) took the wickets for the losers. THIED GEAD'E. Albion defeated Christian Brothers by 12 runs. Albion scored 69 (Rennie 22 and H. Lyng 17), as against 57 put together by their opponents, for whom Toomey soared 19 and Donnelly 12. Spedding took nine wickets for Albion and Donnelly secured five for Christian Brothers. ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY. The monthly meeting of the council of the Otago Acclimatisation Society, held on the 2oth was attended by Messrs G. W. M'lntosh (President), Butter worth, Uowie, Cousins, Hatfield, A. E. Jenkins, C. S. Jenkins, Pattison, and Baker. The Game Committee recommended that the opening of the fallow deer season be Friday, March 29, instead of Monday, April 1; that information be sent to Mr C. Weir and Mr R Leask regarding the vacant blocks in the deer forest; that the applications from Dr Thomas and Mr R. Cameron, of Palmcrston, and Mr C. W. Harvey, of Hawea Flat, foi blocks in the deer forests be granted; that the Canadian geese referred to by Mr Telford be liberated at tne head of Lake Hawea. The committee reported that a warrant authorising Mr M. Ferguson, jf Crookston, to destroy deer found upon his property for a period of three months had been issued.—Adopted. The Angling Committee recommended that Mr Stevpn be authorised to procure certain material and select a suitable place on tha Waiwera for a fish trap; give an estimate of the cost, and recommend a local man to look after the trap. The committee proposed that it should inspect the site of the proposed reserve of six acres near Harbour terrace. A letter had been • received from tho Secretary of the Marino Department, enclosing amendment in the netting regulations foi" Lake Hawea—viz., "No person shall bo permitted to use a net on anv poition of Lake Hawea, within one mile on either side.of the mouths of Timaru Creek, Dingle River, Hunter River, Long Valley Creek, and the outlet of the Neck Lagoon.'" The committee recommended that Mr Hay be rcquefted to submit a suitable amendment to the regulations re buying trout without a license.—ln connection with the six acres reserve a letter was read from Ranger Pellett, in which he suggested that six acres of water between tho road line and the concrete wall and the railway Pelichct Bay bo reserved for a fish pond.
