TAIERI COLLIE CLUB.
The animal meeting of the Taieri Collie Club was held on_ Safcurelay night, Mr William Blackie presiding-. The annual report stated that the ninth annual trials had been held for patriotic purposes, adding considerably thereby to the club's record in assisting patriotic funds. The balance sheet showed that good support was accorded the club, the membership bom? 86. while special donations totalled £l7 "Os 6d. Messrs A. B. Scott (Wynd ham), D. Lcishman, and F. Bennett (Taieri) returned prize money won. Mr A. Douglas supplied sheep gratis. Special thanks were due to the ladies of the Taieri Patriotic Association for catering for patriotic purposes. The report concluded with a reference to the- members of the club who had proceeded on active service. During the year a member of the committee (Lieutenant John Gow) returned and was welcomed by club members. The report and balance sheet (which showed a credit of £2 6s) were adopted, members expressing _ their satisfaction with the "year's operations. Office-bearers were elected as follows:— ■> President, Mr Wm. Blackie: vice-presidents —Messrs A. Scott, A. P. Gibson L. M'Lean, J. Irvine, and W. Reid; secretary. Mr C. Wedge; auditors. Messrs J. A. M'Kinnon and L. M'T.oan: time-keeper, Mr L. M'Lean : General Commitioe—Messrs G. Lcishman. H.'Boyd, A. F. Chevne. J. Korncr, F. Burnett, J. Findlay, H. M'Leod,
J. Stephen, R. Wedge, W. Kirkland, jun.. John Gow, C. H. Leith, D. Gibson. Duncan Leishman, W. O'Brien, R. Smith, W. R. Gawn, F. Buchanan, H. M'Govvan, D. M'Quilka'n. F. Watson. J. Mciklejohn, J. Biggins, and David Leishman. The Ground Committee was re-elected. It was resolved to commence an hon. life members' list. The secretary was instructed to send greetings to the, members who were on active service. . It was decided to proceed with the trials as usual.
