AN OLD DUNEDIN LANDMARK WHICH IS BEING PULLED DOWN TO MAKE ROOM FOR A MODERN WAREHOUSE. Built originally for the Dunedin Athenaeum and Mechanics' Institute, it was so used until the present building in the Octagon was erected, when the building was secured by the Dunedin City Council, and was used as the Corporation Offices and Council Chamber until the present Town Hall was completed.
