MASONIC INSTALLATION
The installation of Bro. H. W. Hilton as Riglit Worshipful. Master of Lodge St* John, No. 461, S.C., took place in *tho lodge room at Milton last Wednesday evening, and \va* conducted by R.W. Bro. D. Cooke, District Grand Master (N.Z. South), and other officers of the District Grana Lodge. There was a good attendance of local and Visiting brethren. The lodge was opened in due form by the retiring R.W.M.. Bro. C. iS. Hood, and after formal reading of the minutes, the R.W.D.G.M. and the Grand Lodge officials wore played into the lodge room by Pipers Broa. G. Foubister and A. G. A. White, and the chairs were. taken by the Grand Lodge officials. The English Constitution was represented by Bro. IT. IL S. White, D.G.W. The Rfcht Worshipful Master Elect (Bro. H. W. Hilton) was presented, obligated by Bro. D. Cooke, R.W.D.G.M., and installed in the chair. He then invested his I.P.M. (Bro. C. 3. Hood). The brethren were recalled, and the usual salutations and proclamation* given, after which V.W. Bro. W.' M'Kin,Fay, D.G.M./ Depute, inveeted the other lodge officers. < . The addressee to the R.W.M. were given by V.W. Bro. E. Button, to the wardens by Bro. J. Abbott. D.G. Secretory." 4 and to the brethren by V.W; Bro. A. E. Gascoigne, J.D.G.W. The addresses were responded to by the newly-installed R.W.M. The ceremony concluded with the singings of the hymn "Abide With Me,", prayer by Chaplain Bro. 11. J. Riddel!', , and the closing of the Volume of the Sacred Law. The visiting brethren and Grand Lodge officers were afterwards entertained, at a social function.
