TAUPIRI EXTENDED MINE.
WORK RESUMED. . AUCKLAND, February 12. Tho Extended miners have decided to resume work to-morrow, subject to. a satisfactory report as to tho safety of the mine by tho check inspectors. The- union sccreta,ry stated that an examination this morning- by the Government inspector, representatives of tho company, and tho check inspectors disclosed gas in tho disputed area. On being questioned, the general manager said there was no moro in the gas question than before. February 13. Work was resumed at tho Taupiri Extended colliery this morning, tho flooding of tho area which tho men declared to bo dangerous haying been completed. The company officials deny that the examination disclosctr anything materially different in regard to gas from what was already kno^n.
