AN ABDUCTION CASE.
WANGANUI, February 18. At the Magistrate’s Court, Allen Hector Loveridge, a taxi driver and a married man. was charged with the abduction of a girl under 18 years of age. The girl’s mother said her daughter left homo to go to a hockey meeting and did not return. Nearly three weeks later she received a letter from her daughter saying: “Good-bye for over; don’t look for me.” As a result of certain information witness by appointment met accused and her daughter near Wanganui, but the latter threatened to drown herself rather than return home. The girl eventually returned home in a pregnant condition. The case is. proceeding.
