Figures submitted to the Auckland Law Society showed that the number of legal practitioners in the Auckland district last year was eight less than in the preceding year. In 1916 229 solicitors took out certificates, in 1917 only 220. Ninety-eight barristers! took out certificates in 1917, and 97 in 1916; During 1917 ten barrister* and 15 solicitors were admitted.
