BOWLING. In tho Dunedin Centre's inter-club matches on Dunedin (8 rinks) defeated Caversham by 177 to 131, and also defeated St. Kilda (3 rinks) by 63 to 43; being beaten by St Clair (3 rinks) by 77 to 40. Caledonian (11 rinks) defeated St. Kilda by 249 to 186; Kaituna (6 rinks) defeated Mornington by 118 to 113, but was defeated by Fairfield (3 rinks) by 64 to 56. Otago (9 rinks) defeated Balmacewen by 189 to 185; lioslyn (4 ririks) defeated Port Chalmers by 105 to 66, but lost to Kaikorai by 139 to 116. North; East Valley (6 rinks) was defeated by Green Island by 130 to 99, and by Taieri (3 rinks) by 65 to 54. St. Clair (4 rinks) defeated Wakari by 97 to 51. A bowlers' social was held on the 30th lilt, at the Otago Bowling Club's pavilion in honour of tho winners of the champion rinks at the recent tournament, Messrs Robson, iSpihks, E. Falconer, and C. R. Smith (skip), members of tho club. The championship banner occupied a prominent position. A number of toasts were proposed and honored, including that of tho champions, 'proposed by the Mayor of Dunedin, and responded to by Mr Smith. Six rinks from the Balclutha Club visited Stirling and secured a win against the Stirling Club by 139 to 106, having a majority in fivo out of tho six rinks. Three rinks from the Lawrence Club scored a win against three from Kaitangata, after a close contest, by 61 to 58. Four rinks from the Naseby Club journeyed to Clyde to try conclusions with •the Clyde players, but suffered defeat by 104 to 79. Three of the Naseby rinks were somewhat heavily beaten, but Lennin's rink put up 30 to Ericson's 14. Contests for the Jolly Memorial Cup are attracting a good deal of attention from bowlers in Central Otago. An Alexandra rink were recently successful in obtaining possession of the cup. A few days ago a Clyde rink composed of Marslin, Piper, Delahunty, and Leekic (s) tried conclusions with the Alexandra rink —Hesson, M'Donald, Campbell, and G. Rivers (s) —but were defeated by 27 to 15. Then a Naseby rink comprising Brown, Buchanan, Drake, LenJiin (s) met tho Alexandra team, the latter again winning. The Naseby paper alleges that, although arrangements for the match had been made and agreed to, the Alexandra green had not been prepared, and tho visitors had to wait until the green was cut and assist in rolling the green.

CRICKET.

FIRST GKADE. The match Carisbrook v. Grange, on the Carisbrook Ground, resulted in a win for Carisbrook. Grange 67, Carisbrook 138. The match Mornington v. Albion was played on the Ground, and resulted in a win for the hill team by 100 runs. A boisterous wind blowing across the wicket made play very unpleasant. Holdon, 62 not out, batted solidly for tho winners, and was assisted by Caradus 36 and F. Haig 29. The Albion team fielded particularly well, no fewer than four Mornington batsmen being run out by smart fielding. Mornington 197, Albion 97. SECOND GRADE. Albion defeated Mornington on the North Ground by 35 runs. Albion—94 (A. Riach 19, Graham 13 not out, Bethune 11, Clarke 11). Mornington—s9 (Ingram 25). Albion's best bowlera were Clarke (three wickets), Marshall (three), and King (two) j while Hitchcock (6 wickets) bowled well for the losers, THIRD GRADE. Overseas —US (Itennie 51 retired, Dickinson 19, Txevarfchan (15), defeated Christian Bros. 38 (Donnelly 17, Fogarty 9, and M.axlow 8) by SO runs. For Christian Bros. Donnelly (8 wickets) nnd for Overseas Vivian (4 wickets) and Rennie (4 wickets) shared the bowling honours.
