NEW ZEALAND HEMP.
WELLINGTON, January 30. The High Commissioner states, with regard to hemp, that tho War Department understands that there aro French ships running from Australia to Franco, and suggests that hemp should be shipped to Australia in local steamers for re-ship-meint by that route. In view of the inward tonnage situation, it is considered most undesirable for such hemp to be brought to the United Kingdom for reahipment.
