A South Canterbury farmer who has 14 children was called in the ballot for married men without children, and though he got the member for Timaru to vouch for the fact that he had 14 children, the Defence authorities (says the Timaru correspondent of the Ohristchurch Press) would not accept the evidence. Tho reservist had to appear before the board at Timaru, when he was required to produce tho birth certificate of each child.
