INQUEST AT LAWRENCE.
Mr H. A. Young, S.M., hold an inquest at Lawrence on Friday into tlio death of Charles Thomson, aged 78 years, a wellknown miner, of Waitahuna Gully. On December 17 the deceased was riding a bicycle on the Waitahuna Gully road, when ho ran into *a dog, and was thrown to the road. Dr Sutherland was called in, and found that the deceased's hip bono was broken. Ho was sent to the Lawrence Hospital, where he died on Thursday. Evidence was given by Dr Sutherland and Rhodcriok Shaw, who witnessed the accident. The Coroner found that the deceased died from heart failure and congestion of the lungs, following on injuries received through accidentally falling from a bicycle.
