Speaking at a. meeting of the Auckland Presbytery, the Rev. J. W. Shaw said that there wove 200 Presbyterian charges m the dominion, and only 150 ministers. The latter number. was likely to bo reduced, as balloting in the Second Divtsibn proceeds and no recruits to the ranks ot the wore coming forward. TTe suggested that adjoining, charges should be amalgamated where such an arrangement was suitable. A committee was appointed to report on the proposal.
