Mr F. Parsons (Bluff) was the victim of a severe loss recently. His son had taken a horse and dray round past Wood Point, and while the driver was engaged in the bush near by. the horse and cart-went over a cliff at the spot striking the rocks nearly 60ft below. The horse was killed instantly and the dray badly damaged. The animal must have slipped on the edge of the chit while feeding. The driver heard the noise of the fall, but when he arrived promptly on the scene the horse was dead. > He secured the harness, however, and it is possible to hoist the cart up to the road again if fit for repair.
