The Greymouth Star says that a gazetted military deserter from Trcntham Camp, named'Daniel Hayes, was arrested at Donniston whore he had been working in the mine. ' He was despatched to Greymouth to be handed over to the military authorities. <\t an inquest on the body of a man who dropped dead in Masterton the other day, the coroner returned a verdict that death was duo to a sudden acute- attack of appendicitis.
