SOME OF THE RECIPIENTS.

A Gazette contains tho list of recipients of various grades of- the Order of the .British. Empire for War Services, headed by Dame Grand Cross (G.8.E.) conferred on Queea Alexandra. The seven Knights Urand Gross (G.B.E) include Viscountess Northcliffe, The 68 Knights Commander (K.8.E.) include Mr Roderick Jones, managing director of Reuter's. The Obmrneaiders (C.8.E.) include Colonel G. J. Smith, of th* New Zealand Force. Officers of the Order (0.8. E.) include the llev. A. MacDonald. New Zealand chaplain; Major M'Kibbin, of the New Zealand Medical Corps;' Captain F. M'Pherson, New Zealand command depot; and Major J. T. Watson New Zealand Embarkation Officer. Members of the Order (M.8.E.) include Misses V. C. Bell, A.'M. Herbert, A. J. Pearce, E. Stuckey, J. O. Watson, Mesdames A. V. Goodchild and E. W. Stewart, of the New Zealand Voluntary Aid Detachments. Three hundred and fifty medals of tho British Empire Order have been issued, mostly to munition workers, many of them women, for courage in moments of the gravest danger from fires and explosions; also to a number of telephone girls for devotion to duty during air raids. In order to meet the convenience of tho dominions and colonies, in view of the present slowness of communications, it has been arranged to defer until a later date, probably March 1, notification of the lists, of appointments to the Order of the Britisl;" Empire in respect of services in or for th« dominions and colonies.
