SEAMEN'S UNION.
AUCKLAND, January 10. A protest against the reported excision of Messrs Young and Howell (officers of the Seamen's Union) from the Wellington wharves was made to the Hon. Mr Wilford. Minister of Marino, by tliG president of the Auckland Seamen's Union. The Minister said ho had no knowledge of the- matter, and promised to mako inauirics on his return to Wellington. "Messrs Young and Howell have both just served a term of imprisonment on a charge of inciting a strike among tho seamen on coastal steamers.
