As has been the custom eince 'the Salvation Army Girls' Home has been in existence in Micldlemarch, a party of those interested in the welfare of the children entertained them at a Christmas party hi the home. In the children's schoolroom was erected a Christmas tree, and from it Santa Olaus gave each child a useful present and a bag of sweets. Mr A. M'Kinnon (chairman], on behalf of the promoters, wished the children a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Thanks are due to Misa Winnie Turnbull, who arranged the Christmas tree. Major Colvin, on behalf of the children, matron, and staff, thanked the chairman and friends for their kindly interest in the homo. The proceedings terminated with the. National Anthem.
