In the Supreme Court Mr Justice Cooper delivered the judgment cf the Appeal Court in the case of Philip Crago, charged with attempted murder, and sentenced to five years' imprisonment and five years' reformative treatment. Crago wished to make charges of malicious treatment in the Invercargill and Waikcria Prisons, but was advised by his Honor to forward them to the judge, when they would bo sent to the proper authorities*,

GISBORNE, December 11. The Supremo Court was occupied to-day with a claim by Minnie Ogilvie (Auckland) against Fred. Hall and Eva- Parker (proprietor and licensee respectively of the Masonio Hotel) for £2OOO damages for the death of the plaintiff's husband, who died as the result of an accident while employed in the hotel. The jury found for the plaintiff. awarding £IOOO. CHRISTCHUPvCH, December 12.

At the Supremo Court to-day Albert Peat was sentenced to four years' imprisonment for an unnatural offonco at Timaru.
