FIRES. AUCKLAND. December 12. A fire last night in a three-storey briek building occupied by the Electric Construction Company and Dorking and Sneddon (upholsterers) gutted tho ground floor, and considerable damage was done to the first and second floors. Dorking and Sneddon's stock was destroyed, and the Electric Company's stock considerably damaged. The latter was insured for £4OO in the South British office. HAWERA, December 13. The Kakaramea cheese factory was completely destroyed by fire yesterday. Tha insurances in tho State Office total £2374. No other details are available. Advice was received by tho Education Board on the 12th that the residence at tho> Oamaru South School had been destroyed by fire. The board appointed the chairman (Mr D, T. Fleming) and Messrs Borrid and Livingstone a committee of inquiry.
An estate, containing 10,000 acres in Hawke'a Bay, is to be sold in block* varying in area from 750 acres upwards,' early next month.
