Little Maisie . had been tremendously excited ov,er the making of the Christmas pudding, and begged to be ffiven a taste. "No, dear," answered mother, "not till Christmas Day, you know." " Oh, mummy, you are stingy!" the child petishly. " Dorothy's mamma lsn t as stingy as that." Mother pretended to be very hurt and upset at her little Grirl making such a remark about her. Full of contrition the child flung her arms round her mothers neck. "I didn't mean it," she cried} '•' Dorothv's mamma is just as stingy at you are !" _^_____
