Ho entered the shop boldly, intent upon buying, the baby a Christmas present. " I want some ribbon for a red baby," he stammered. _ The shop girl stared. " That is," he said, " I want some baby for ft red-ribbed un."
The girl smiled broadly. He began again. "Of. course, vou know," he said, "I mean some rod-ribbed baby for one that is—some rod —ribs for — ono baby—some—thunder and guns " Then he'bolted. " I wonder," said the shop girl thoughtfully, "if he could have meant red baby ribbon?"
