LABOUR TROUBLES.
THE AUSTRALIAN STRIKE. The wharf labourers at Sydney reported for work on the 20th inst. Negotiations regarding the coal mining trouble are proceeding. Ministers are hopeful of an early settlement. At Melbourne the loading of vessels controlled by the Government was proceeding satisfactorily on the 20th. STRIKES IN THE ARGENTINE. The Labour element in the Argentine has taken advantage of the Luxburg riots to call several strikes. Rails have been torn up by the mob and German property menaced. The railway strike is disturbing the economic life" In Cordoba Central the strikers have torn up the line" wrecked the rolling stock, signal boxes, and stations, and have derailed a troop train. The managers of the English and French lines are considering the necessity of a lock-out. The Argentine railwayman decided on a general strike on Monday. A fatal conflict occurred between the railwayman and the troops. A general strike is imminent.-
