For the 1917 war loan £3006 was put through the Kaitangata_ Poet Office —£1306 in certificates and £I7OO in post office bonds. For tho 1916 war loan the figui-es were £3002, of which certificates totalled £2052 and bonds £950. A Governor's Bay resident has marketed a fine sample of new potatoes, which brought up to &Ad per lb. This is exceptionally early for potatoes, and demonstrates what'Canterbury can produce in a favourable season.
