DUNEDIN COMPETITIONS

TWELFTH DAY.—TUESDAY. Tho Dunedin Competition Society's festival was brought to a close- on the 11th inst. The attention of the committee was drawn to the fact that Miss Maud Farrant, who competed in the humorous recitation, 12 years and under, was over age. On inquiry the committee found that this was the case, but the entry _ was made in good faith, the parents considering that the child was eligible for_ {his competition until she attained her thirteenth birthday. The committee considered that the matter was open to a misunderstanding, and acquitted the competitor of any intention to cause a breach of the rules, but decided that she must be treated as over age. Steps will be taken to make the definition as to age quite clear in the future. Following are the results of the final day's competitions: _, PIANO DUET (Amateurs)—"Arabian Bance."
