IMPORTATIONS OF TEA.

A YEAR'S STATISTICS. WELLINGTON, September 11. A return laid on the table of the House of* Representatives to-day showed that 7,961,2991 b of tea in bulk (in packages of 5Jb net or over) were imported into the dominion during the year ended March 31. The value of this tea was £389.181, and the average price per lb was 11.7 d. The largest consignment of tea, was landed at Lyttelton, where 2,229.0671 b, valued _at £lO7 770. were imported. Auckland imported 1,456.9341 b, valued at £71,554; WclWton, 1,897.3041 b. valued at £91.830; Dunedin, 2.027.8 c olb, valued at £99.648; and other ports, 350.1141 b, valued at £18,379. There were also imported 15.921 p.-i.-r-kages of tea under 51b net, valued at £7lB, made up as follows: —Auckland, 36G61b. valued at £172; Wellinsrton, 82931 b, valued at £311; Lyttelton, 5751 b, valued at £6l; Dunedin, 24201 b. valued at £120; other ports, 10271 b, valued at £54. The average price per lb of this tea was 10.8 d.
