It is reported from Wyndham that a valuable motor cycle and side car was stolen from a shed on Sunday night. It was the property of Mr Oettli, and was valued at .about £SS. A local boot and shoe importer (states the (hunum Mail) received a cablegram from England advising him that “all men’s and women’s boots and shoes are subject to a total advance of 70 per cent., plus a shilling per pair, on pre-war prices.” Thus a pair of lady’s shoes that sold for 25s in July, 1914, will now cost 42s 6d.
