DEATHS.
LEDINGHAM.—On August 19, killed while in action "Somewhere in France," Private A. E. Ledinghsrm, youngest son of A. Ledinghain and the late John Ledingham, Fatearoa; aged 25 years. Deeply regretted. MATHESON.—Died from wounds received while in action in France, Malcolm, third son of the late Angus Matheson, and nephew of Alexander Matheson, Roslyn. RARITY.—On August- 11, died from wounds received* whilst fighting "Somewhere in France," Jimmy (15th Reinforcements), dearly beloved second son ol Thomas and Margaret Rarity, Kaifcangata (late of Hamilton, Scotland). " Died from wounds," say the cables— That is all the tale they tell Of the brave young lad who loved us. Of the lad we loved so well. How the life was sped we know not, What the last word, look, or thought, Only that he did his duty, Died as bravely as he fought. SHARPE.—On August, 22, killed while in action "Somewhere in Fiance," Corporal Charles Frederick Sharpe (2nd Field Artillery Brigade, Australian Main Body), dearly beloved second son of Florence and the late Frannis George Sharpe, 46 Koyal crescent, Musselburgh;; aged 31 years.
