Mails close at the Chief Post Office as "FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14. For Lyttclton and Christchurch. per Monowai, at 2 p.m. Late-fee letters 3 p.m. on steamer. Late-fee letters for North and South Expresses may now be posted in Pillar Posting Box in front of Railway Station. Mails for South Sea Islands by next available steamer. Mails for United Kingdom, Expeditionary Forres abroad. America, and all oversea countrie?.. including Australia, will be despatched from time to time by the besfc route without special notification. Letters usually superscribed "via Suez" should now be superscribed " for first direct iteamer." Correspondence for all neutral countries is subject to censorship. Tiieodohe Kino, Chief Postmaster.
