OUTRAM.
September 10. —Since last week's rain the weather lias been very fine, with good drying winds, enabling farmers to get well ahead with fa.rm wark. In the vicinity of the township potato-planting is now finished, and spring-sown wheat is wall forward. . The River.—Residents of the township a.ro viewing with apprehension the state of the riverbank in the vicinity of the township. It is to be hoped that the Drainage Board will remedy this at a very early date, as it is not necessary to state the damage which will ensue should the river burst through.
Roaids.—We believe that townspeople would be very grateful to the county engineer if he would see that less clay binding were used on the roads in the township. Some time ago a portion of the main street waa metalled, on top of which a very liberal coa+ing of clay was strewn, with the result that on the slightest rain the road is in a deplorable state. Anniversary.—The ni'V-ssventh anniversary of the West Taieri Church was held on Sunday. . The Rev. Mr Kinmont, of East Taieri. conducted the services, which were well attended.
