PERSONAL NOTES.

Rifleman Wm. Mackenzie Eangmuir Tosh, who died of sickness in France, was bom in Forfarshire, and came to New Zealand 12 years ago. He was farming in partnership with his brother near Kaitangata before leaving with the First Battalion, N.Z. Rifle Brigade. He took part in the fighting against the Senussi in Northern Egypt, and was wounded. He spent some months in " hospital In England, and was then sent to France. He was 6tirred by the example of a brother who has been in the fighting line since Mons. He was SO years of age, and was of herculean build, standing over 6ft. Rifleman Ernest S. Randal (killed in action) lived with his parents at Intchfield, Aramoho, before enlisting. He was 50 years af age, and left in A Company, First Battalion, N.Z. Rifle Brigade. Trooper D. J. A. Ferguson (killed in action) enlisted with tho Eighth Reinforcements, but was transferred to tho mounted section of the Seventh Reinforcements. He was wounded in Egypt in August of last year. Trooper Fciguson, who was well known in Timani, served in the South African war.

Gunner David Gibson, Kelso (severely gassed, and admitted to Walton-on-Thamcs Hospital), left with the mounted section of the Sixth Reinforcements, and was transferred to the artillery before the troops left Egypt for France.

Private George Victor Robertson (wounded) is a son of the late George Bohertson, of King street, North Dunedin. He was educated at the George Street School, and left with the Eighth Reinforcements.

Sergeant Peroival Rogers (wounded) is tha second son of Mr and Mrs A. Rogers, Lawrence. Sergeant Kogers left, with the Main Body with two other brothers, Clarence, who was wounded at Quirm's Post, and Sergeant-major Fred Rogers, wounded at the Somme. After serving through the Gallipoli campaign Sergeant Rogers was invalided to England, and subsequently served in Fiance. Driver Roy Rogers, of tlio N.Z.F.A., now in camp, makes the fourth son of Mr and Mrs Rogers serving King and country.

Sapper George Samuel Frame" (wounded) is the second youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. Frame, St. Kilda. He left with the Eleventh Reinforcements. His youngest brother is in France; anobher brother, who was through the Gallipoli campaign, and served in France with the Main Body of Australians, won the Military Medal for bravery, and now has a commission in the Royal Navy. A fourth brother was discharged after serving two months at Trentham, and a fifth brother goes into camp next month.

Corporal H. R. Bunn, Rongahere (wounded), left with the Eleventh Reinforcements, and has been in Franco since Deccinl'-er.

Private Ryder Stewart, who is at present in Walton-on-Thames Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds in the face, is a stepson of Jlr R. Shaldcrs, of Feilding.

Private E. V. Lye, son of Mr J. Lye, of Slornlngton, was wounded at Mcssines Ridgo, and 13 now an inmate of the Brookc-nhurst Hospital, England.

Sapper A. Lye, the only son of Mr E. I.ye, 1 milder, of Auckland, and nephew of Jlr J. Lye, of Alornington, was wounded at Ypre3, in the right ear, right arm, and right leg.
