THE MACEDONIAN FRONT.
The Petit Parisien states that the Allies have initiated an energetic offensive in Macedonia, with a view to preventing the Bulgarians from reinforcing the Austrians on the Rumanian front. The plan is thus to relieve the Russo-Rumanians in Moldavia.
A Bulgarian communique states: There was a very violent enemy bombardment on the Macedonian front on September 2. At dawn on the 4th inst. the French attacked Tchervna, Stena, and We6t Bitolia, but out curtain fire repulsed them. A German official message says: We repulsed the French north-west of Monastir. French troops occupied some villages westward of Malik.
