BUTTER AND CHEESE.
COMING SEASON'S OUTPUT. NEGOTIATIONS DELATED. (From Odr Own Correspondent ) WELLINGTON, August 29. Finality has not been reached regarding the negotiations between the Prime Minister and the butter producers in reference to the coming season's butter output. Mr Massey is now waiting for a definite statement from the Imperial Government. The cause of the delay seems to be the change that has recently taken place in the office of Food Controller. Up to the present the Imperial authorities have not made known their wishes and intentions. Mr Massey cannot settle the matter until ho knows exactly what they are prepared to do, but when that information is available the matter will be considered by Cabinet, and the decision arrived at will be communicated to the representatives of the producers in order that a satisfactory solution may be reached as soon as possibles Arrangements regarding the cheese output are in much the same position.
