TAWANUI.
April 20. —The weather hero during autumn has been on the whole good, and since the rain came we have experienced a wonderim girowth of grass for the time of year. Whatever the winter may have in store tor us, we are starting off with a really good lot of gross. Of course, the milking season is just about closed for our district. _ Scholastic.—Our new echoolhouse is nnished now, and school is being held therein. We have waited a very long time for it; but it has come at last, and is really _we - come. Monday, 16th, was the day appointed for the election of new committees. A&out 17 householders put in an appearance m our district, but only five consented to stand, and so wo just had sufficient to form a committee. , . Railways.—We arc sorry to learn of the coal strike, and, as a consequence, a reduction in train services; but we ato still in luxury as compared with many other countries, and so must be thankful.
