"GO-SLOW" PROSECUTIONS.
HUNTLY MINERS CHARGED. Forty-four miners appeared at the Police Court at Huntly on Thursday, charged with being parties to a seditious strike in. contravention of clause 2 of ' The War Regulations Act, 1916." The Huntly men charged were: —W» Aston, W. Martin, J. Green, T. Holt, R. Welham, W. Ainsclough, Jas. Mitchell, IX Thompson, H. Diok, T. Winstanley, Gv Bowen, J. Hargreaves, D. Allen, D. Duffy, Alf. Edwards, A. Kilburn, A. Edwards, A. Robinson, S. Robinson, S. Freeman, C. Bowron, and C. Twist. Those from Glenmassey were: —G. Green, D. Portis, 0. Redshaw, W. Timms, D. Kernohan, J. Kornohan, J. Newman, D. M'Konzie, L. Redshaw, G. Cummings, and D. Cummings. Those summoned at Pukemiro were:—Ai Clay, G. Hogg. J. Phillips, J. Blue, G-. Brown, R. Shilton, W. Shilton, Ck M'Kenny, J. M'Kenny, W. Paterson, G. M'Oallum. Inspector Phair, of Hamilton, appeared on behalf of the Crown, and applied for a, remand until April 26. Mr Singer, whot appeared on behalf of the men, offered »« objection, and the remand was' granted. (i. Bowcn, one of the defendants, is th<| new president* of the Huntly Miners' and S* Freeman i 3 the new secretary, Th€ town of Huntly is very quiet, and. wovß is proceeding at the mines in a manner similar to the previous week's.
