SUNDAY TRADING.
AUCKLAND, April 12.. At the Police Court to-day, Mr Kettle, StM , delivered judgment in cases wherein 14 keepers of soft-drink shops and restaurants were charged with Sunday trading, in that they sold soft drinks. The judgment was that though no objection could be taken to tho supply of soft drinks with meals or afternoon tea, the supply of such by themselves could not be considered a work of necessity. A3'■ he practice had been permitted for a number of years the magistrate imposed no penalty, entering a conviction only.
