It is to ho hoped that !he member, Mr Scott, will bestir himself and visit this end of his electorate and find out himself the- position of affairs before anything further is done in the matter.

Off to the Front.—A send-off social to Privates 'Snow, S. Young, and B. Hayes, who were down on final leave from I'rcntham, was held on Tuesday evening, when there was a good attendance of the public. Solos were rendered by Mrs M'Bryde, Messrs Roberts and Draper, and recitations by Misses Withers and Blair. A short dance brought the social to a close.
