(From Our Own Correspondent::.; GERALDINE, April 11. ' The rainfall registered here for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. was 1.34 in. Heavy rain fell at night, after a cloudy day -with showers, following a hot north-west day, with the thermometer registering 57deg in the shade. HILLGROVE, April 11. The rainfall recorded at Trotter's Creek (Hillgrove) for the 10th infit. was 38 points. RANFURLY, April 11. The rainfall registered here for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. was 37 points. The weather has turned very much colder. STATION PEAK, April 11. The rainfall registered here for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. was 117 points. By tho Monowai,- which sailed on Tuesday. 10th, for East Coast ports, Messrs Stronach, Morris, and Co. shipped, on account of the executors of the late James Holms, "Waimahaka Estate, 17 Hereford bulls for Gisborne. For considerably over 30 years tho above breeders have been shipping Hereford bulls to the North Island, ana this season over 70 head have been sent from this port. THE WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, April 10: —"London cables fourth wool sales closed very firm as compared with opening rates. All good merinos 5 per cent, dearer, others unchanged."
