The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board, held on the 11th, was attended by Messrs R. T. Sadd (Commissioner of Crown Lands), G. Livingstone, T. A. Munro, C. J. Section 20, block VI, Blackstone, 109 a 3r—Mr George Martin, sen., and Mr James Martin to Mr Gcorgo Martin, sen. —Approved. Section 38, block 111, Cromwell 43a Or 9p—Mr Martin Heanoy to Mr Patrick James Hcanoy. — Approved. Messrs Don Bros, applied to sub-let 6a, Elderslie No. 1 Settlement, to Mr Henry Schaffer.—Resolved that application will bo favourably considered on receipt of full particulars. The following applications for land were considered:—Section 15, block I, Bcnmore, 68a 2r 31p, r.L—Mr Robert Hair.—Approved. Section 16, block I, Benmore, 84a lr 9p, r.l.— Mr Charles Collins.—Resolved that application be approved; grazing license over sections 11-14- declined; that Shank's license over sections 11-14 be determined. Sections 7a, Bellamy Settlement, 9a lr Sp, r.l.—Mr Thomas Phillips.—Approved. Mr W. F. Cameron applied for a renewable lease over sections 16, block XVI, Tarras district, and 31, block 11, and 30, block 111, Wakefield district, containing 614 a 2r; and Mr 3 W. F. Cameron applied for a renewable lease over section 15, block 111, Tarras district, containing 57a 2r. — Held over. Mr H. Cordes applied to purchase section 2, block 89, town of Cromwell. —Resolved that ranger report, suggest upset price, and value improvements. The Warden and the Ranger submitted reports on Mr Timothy Enright's application for exchange of section 19, block VI, Cardrona district, from 0.1. to r. 1., and inclusion of adjoining section 21 in the renewable lease'.—Resolved that the application be granted, and that the capital value of section 19 be 12s 6d, and that 'of section 21 be 303 per acre, tho latter price being subject to the Minister's approval. Sergeant Samuel Kidd (police) applied for a right to occupy a small piece of vacant land (about a quarter-acre) between the police residence and survey office, on tho Government reserve, in block LXVI, town of Lawrence.—Resolved that 'right to occupy froni year to year be granted at an annual rental of 7s 6d; no license fees to be charged. Mr T. B. Hamilton applied for a license to occupy as a site for seaside crib at Brighton section 10. block XVI, Duncdin and East Taieri district.—Resolved that license from year to year be granted at an annual rental of £l.

Mr Walter Outten applied for an occupation lease over an estimated area of 6 acres of unsurveyed land, adjoining section 42, block I, Fraser district. —Resolved that application be refused, the warden having reported that the land is required for mining. Mr W. Gwyn having failed to render monthly statements showing timber cut under sawmilling license, it was resolved that his license be cancelled. The Commissioner reported that Mr Robertson Brown had failed to make tho necessary payments in connection with a flax licenso granted on February 14.—Resolved that license be cancelled. The Commissioner reported that Mr Michael Liston had failed to pay the rent for the right to occupy section 64, block V, Hillcnd district, granted on February 14. —Resolved that right be cancelled, and that Mr Liston be informed that he must not occupy the section. The board considered the question of creasing the rental of section 4, block XII, Rankleburn, held on yearly license by Mr D. Lawson at a rental of 16s. —It was resolved to increase the rental to 25s as from September next. The board appointed arbitrators in respect of a number of perpetual leases, the terms of which expire on June 30, 1920. An application by the- lessee of the Mount Burke Run for a further extension of his licenso until April 30, 1917, to enable him to complete the muster, was recommended for approval. Tho Lauriston Timber Company applied for an extension of term of the timber licenso held by it.—Resolved to recommend a further extension for six months. An arrangement between the lessee of part Run 354 a (12,000 acres) and neighbours was considered, and the board decided it had no objection to the arrangement. An application by tho executrix in the estate of Mr Richard Dawson (deceased) to have channel of "dry race" left open through tho area allotted to Mr W:n. John Phillips, section 10, block 111, Fraser, and that it bo excepted from tho grant, was granted. Mr A. G. D. Cameron applied, under section 53, "Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913," to amend boundaries of Run 354, Vincent. —Resolved to recommend for approval, rental to bo amended in accordance with agreement between tho parties. It was resolved to call for tenders for grazing on two lots on Clifton Settlement. In regard to applications for land on Kyo-bu-rn Run, it was resolved that all late applications be declined, those of Mr S. Beer (100 acres) and Mr P. Brown

(200 acres). It was also resolved that a stock reserve of 50 acres be laid off near the Pass Hotel.
