LOCAL BODIES ELECTIONS.
Messrs James John Clark (present Mayor) and Isaac Grcon were nominated for the mayoralty of Dunedin on the 16th inst. Thcntv-eight candidates wcro nominated as councillors for the city. As only 18 are required, a poll will be taken on the 25th inst. Mr John Lindsay was elected Mayor of Green Island, and only the required number was nominated for the Borough. Council, only four of those retiring seeking re-elec-tion. Nino candidates wore nominated for the seven vacancies on the Otago Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, but Mr David Lavnach retired. With the exception of Dr Roberts, all were members of the retiring board. Messrs 11. Holland (present Mayor) and Mr J. M'Couibs. M.P., were nominated for the Christchurch mayoralty. Mr J. A. Na?h was elected Mayor of Palmcrston North unopposed
